Cloud Levels ----- ------ Some of the diagnostics put the cloud into three layers (high, middle, low) as 28-layers of cloud information takes up much space. Low clouds: surface to 642 mb (equator) surface to 750 mb (pole) linear in latitude for other regions Middle clouds: 642 mb to 350 mb (equator) 750 mb to 500 mb (pole) linear in latitude for other regions High clouds: 350 mb to top (equator) 500 mb to top (pole) linear in latitude for other regions Note: The model does not allow clouds above the tropopause.
