1/22/2008 get-httpsubset.pl is a program written by Dan Swank of NCDC. NCDC doesn't support a windows version of the program, so a windows user has made a windows version of this useful program. As Alex Alexander wrote: After much hair pullling I think I have fixed XXXXXX's problem. Very much a windows issue, I did manage to do it without needing to modify the get_grib.pl script. I have created a win32 version of the get-httpsubset script it has 2 issues thou, It will not run from a networked drive and during its running it downloads the inv twice, once to display to the screen the number of variables found and then again to do the actual download, there was no avoiding this due to a windows problem with echoed output. I attach the win32 version for referance, only one change to line 493(ish). If you have no use for it please pass it on to anyone you think might do, also I do not have a contact for the ncdc for this, please pass it on to someone there and ask them to contact me if they have any questions about it. My comments: I really can't help window users to get this script to work. I don't have a windows box at work. At home, my rarely used Windows box has cygwin installed. Once cygwin is installed, the linux/unix versions of the scripts run and I can't reproduce the typical windows problems. WNE
