Around 2003, production of NARR was transferred from a dedicated machine to a new machine with many users. With the old machine, the order of the fields in the 3 hourly analyses was unchanging. The averaging program took advantage of this to speed up the processing. The new machine had many users, and sometimes the order of the fields would be different. This broke the averaging program. This was recognized and a sort-step was added to the averaging program. (I don't know when this happened.) These months were reprocessed to produce new monthly "a" means. 200305 200312 200402 200403 200412 The reprocessed files were added to CPC's archive. Unfortunately the files were never distributed to the outside world. note: UFLX and VFLX are deleted in CPC's archive. Values not not useful because of the lack of resolution. 11/2017 Wesley Ebisuzaki
