This directory contains pentad averages of select fields from GODAS analyses.
The files are separated into yearly directories.  The filename date and internal time stamp
indicates the last day of the averaging period.

Please check the horizontal grid and vertical levels used for each field.
The horizontal grid for the u- and v- velocity components is offset from
the grid for the other fields.  Additionally, the vertical grid for the
vertical velocity is offset from the other subsurface fields.

On rerun and replacement of GODAS pentad data for August 2018 to May 2019

For years, WMO has worked for transition data format from TESAC to BUFR in GTS.
In the efforts, Argo data in the NCEP tank also has been changed to BUFR format since July 2018. Accorng to this data format change of Argo, GODAS data decoder was updated following the change. It has been known that there were issues in the updated decoder, and occures warm bias in upper layer of GODAS (e.g. 0-110 m depth), which is due to the incorrect conversion. From reruns of updated codes, following data are replaced
