BRTMP: Brightness Temperature

In the NCEP post files, there is a field that wgrib2 labels as BRTMP
which is the short-wave brightness temperature. The field should
have been labelled as BRTEMP (long-wave brightness temperature).

This mistake has been in the ncep post for many years.  It has been
unnoticed for so long because people only expected one brightness
temperature, the one associated with the long waves.  This mistake
was fixed in CORe June 2025 for the code and later for the disk
archives.
