CDAS_clone_temporary
   contains the CDAS look alike files created using CORe reanalysis.
   As of 7/2024, CORe is not operational.
   We propose for CORe to replace CDAS.  This dataset will provide data
    so that the public can comment about the proposal.

   Assuming the proposal is sucessful, this data set will be maintained until
     (1) CORe is operational and (2) a public CORe archive site is available.
   This will allow people to use transition to the operational CORe before
   an archive site is available.  Of course, they will have to transition to
   the final CORe datasets.

1_day_sample
   contains the (proposed) operational output that will be long-term archived.
   This is the output for a single day.  Monthly means of the ensemble-mean 
   pgb and flux files will be generated by a non-operational process.

   Operational output is distributed by NCEP from https://nomads.ncep.noaa.gov and
   usually contains about the last 7 days of results. Access to longer time series
   will depend on the public archives.
